well, after almost ten years of doing implosions now and then.. (meaning about a couple hundred a year) a few things seemed to come together a couple days ago.

photography is still a wacky business. the white's all china white.. so.. recalibrate your eyes knowing that. there's some fake alien tech backgrounds on a couple, and a super dark stardust one. elvis and i think the greens are trautman's blue green
these are all just over an inch

i'm still getting some small air bubbles behind the very center middle.. any advice on that would be welcome. it seems to be more of a problem with stiffer colors. i'm just not sure how to stop the implosion to take care of it without messing up the heat base, and without imploding the edges too much while trying to get the air out..or boiling what's in the middle.. eh.. i suppose i need to take my time or something =p

these are from day 2 of me getting a clue.. i think there are better in the kiln right now..
i hope i get a few more days of fun like this!

Nice Zlao! It's great there's a white that works well for implosions. I could never find one that was reliable 5-6 years ago.

I can't really make out what's going on with the air; is that a little bubble that got trapped in the back because it was more and more concave there until it closed up? If so I've seen that with stiffer colors, too. One option is to try pulling the odd stiff blebblet off the piece.

It looks like you may have boiled the color while imploding. China white doesn't like to get reworked

the green ones definately have an air bubble right behind the central dot/dots. as the implosion closes down, there's like a cylinder of air sometimes, going all the way up to right behind the center of the pattern.
sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not.. maybe i'm just not keeping the pattern side hot enough for the center to collapse out.. to severe of a collapse.. like i said, still not sure.

last week in july work for a lesson jake? i think we'll be in town that week.
