Hi All,
I have an ad up on CL looking for oxygen tanks, and was contacted by a woman about an hour away who has around 10 medium size tanks. She cannot provide me with photos. She did give me the "DOT" number, however. I found the following chart on wikipedia to try and figure out what the tanks are.
She says she that there are two kinds of tanks in her inventory-
1. "AL2015". This appears to be an AL Tank on the chart.
2. "AA2015". This could be one of many tanks. She said it was similar in size to the AL, so I'm guessing it is an A tank?
These were used as medical equipment for her grandmother who has since passed. She basically just wants it out of storage asap. She offered me 15$ per tank. She also has an Invacare Platinum 10 oxycon w/ ~2,000 hours which she is selling to me for $150.
My questions are-
1. Any idea what these tanks are?
2. My understanding is that if they have the medical fitting/regulator on them they are useless for me. But $15 seems quite cheap. Is there somewhere I can easily flip these to make a little money? If I post them on CL will they go quick, and for about how much can I expect? (depends on what exactly what tank it is, of course)
3. Assuming they don't have a medical fitting and are standard oxygen cylinders, will these be useful for a Homefill setup, or will not having the larger k-tanks be a waste of time and space?
4. On the chart, AL tanks are about the same size as A tanks, yet they are 50% of the weight. How is that possible? Maybe they are the medical tanks, and weigh less so you can carry them around with you on a cart?
Thanks so much for your help!
