never seen a phantom,... only seen the cricket, mirage, and delta from GTT, But I ran a CC+ previously to my Mirage and I'd say that the Mirage is comparable to the CC+, of course the Mirage is much more versatile, and more concentrated heat, but the CC+ has a wider heat base. Mirage is by far my fav torch I've owned, or worked on, it seems to becoming the standard torch for what most of us do.

Not that I'm saying you're wrong, but what would you like to suggest? I'm honestly curious here's why.

Well... Mirages do make a Phantom appear womanly when they're painted with camouflage or snakeskin. That's pretty masculine. All that pink and purple anodized metal is pretty girly.

Heat wise and width wise, agreed that a Mirage is a big step up from a Phantom. There's not as large a difference in width or heat between the centerfire and the outer as there is on a Delta, and then it can blow noticeably larger bubbles and heat solids hella' more than a Phantom. Mirages are my favorite size of GTT, have a good time and put it to good use!

You dont compare a GTT to another GTT torch, you compare GTT torches to every other torch ever invented because nothing compares. Mirage is a great torch you will enjoy! I forgot carlisles suck :)

the mirage is a nice torch. where you felt like you couldnt go to much bigger with your phantom the mirage will get you there. you will also be able to work smaller.

Its all in the interpretation. The OP of the thread didn't necessesairly say anything bad about girls, you just took it as such.

Perhaps in this situation "girl" could mean, smaller and that they consume less? Generaly girls are smaller than men, and by that fact they tend to consume less.

If I didn't just roll out of bed I could probably have a stronger arguement right now, but you all get the point...

LOL Yes it does :) I didnt mean to offend anyone, I noticed over the years no matter what torch anyone has thats the most awesome torch to ever live. Im sure that someone with a redmax would be like this is the greatest thing to happen to glass since pipes. If i had to stop working on a gtt I would go with a bethlehem and then a nortel redrocket, then a redmax, then a 3a national,and then if I still had no other options, it was like quit blowing glass or work on a carlisle I would prolly quit blowing glass :(
