Hey rumples-
No these are not made on a mandrel!
They are inside-out....collapsed to a solid form.....then pierced with Tungsten so create the hole.

i have not worked with boro much at all so bare my question.. when you say collapsed to a solid form do you mean after you put the colors down on the inside part, for the outer clear lair you just put a bigger sized clear tube over and melt it down?.. thats how i would guess to do it.

awesome work though, i got a bead that looks like the 3erd one over on my necklace too, except its a tear drop shape

Hey Lorax-

When I say collapsed I mean that once I have melted in all my Inside-Out color decoration, I get the piece super-juicy hot. Then I slightly tug on the blow tube with my breath and let it attach to my lip forming a vaccum. The piece is then collapsed to a solid form and I work it from there.

I make pendants too....maybe I made the one your wearing....did you get it at a festival? Galllery? Anyways, I hope this helps.
