Show me your blast tubes

as the title says... If you've made a blast tube show me what ya got.

Im trying to come up with something that has a removable end (the injection side) so its easy to load, but then seals up tightly to contain the solvent until it purges out the other end

Also looking for Glass petcocks or valves or whatever u call them. Could possible use the plastic butane accepting nozzle that I see on the bates torches.

oh and no GOG fittings either. I've already tried those and had a couple bad experiences. I was over on the TC board and the general consensus seems to be to make a open ended tube, similar to the stalk on a "water tube" and then put close the end except a very small hole. That's what i've been doing all along but was kinda hopin for some new ideas.

How do you empty it if there's no gong?
I don't dab but I have made a few of these. What are you asking exactly? How to make it gong without making it gong? by making it gong....use thicker joints or do better welds. I've had zero issues.

i have made a few on 25 hvy and 32 and i use one on 44 as well. so far the ones i have had that have lasted the longest and not cracked have been gently flared on one end but BARELY, and then the other end is close with a tungston pick hole through the middle of it for the nozzle.

Not entirely sure this if this is what you mean, I've never heard it called a blast tube. These were on 38 I believe but they could be any size. Pretty straightforward not really sure if I understand the question, but a cork works just fine to seal the open end, and a lot cheaper than a big gong fitting. Burn a hole through it with a tungsten and the plastic adapter thing on the butane should fit in it nicely. The hole on the other end doesn't need to be tiny, I make them about 10-12mm and instruct the buyer to use a little piece of coffee filter in the bottom of the tube.

i make em so the top hole fits a butane can tip exactly, and use 32 x 4. put a small lip on the other end, very minimal.

weird..., we always used coffee filters on the open end, slightly flared. (held on with rubber bands) and a sm hole for the injection side (about 2mm)

haha you guys are nuts. Sounds like the way ive been doing them (closin off one end, tungsten a hole, other end flame polished) is how Ill keep doing them. Ive gotten pretty good at getting the right sizes tube/length for different "sizes" too. Obviously there is always some variance in material density. Guess I wont try to reinvent the wheel
