Those are sweet, nice job! What you really need for the foam is old school NS Creamy White.

or maybe your fave, egyptian sands?

NS Creamy White was discontinued 10 years ago, so you probably haven't ran into it much (on the other hand, Moss is still around I guess!). It was a really bubbly semi-translucent white... the clear counterpart to Milkyway Blue, if that helps. It would make perfect foam. I wonder how that stuff was made?

Thanks again for all the kind words. I've started bringing these around to shops with some success. People seem to really like them. I've posted them on FB..and GP. They got featured on GP which was sick. My next step is to tweak this .pdf a friend made for me and email them off to every shop I can think of.

Since this is my first attempt at pushing a product like this...I would greatly apppreciate any input, advice, tips on how to market this idea.

Just want to make sure I make the right decisions here. I'm really hoping these can make me some money...start accounting for a sizeable piece of my monthly income.

Rambling at this point, but would love to hear some thoughts in this thread.

Thanks
Matt

Bit of a *bump* for The Beers.. but figured I'd show you the new and improved beers. I'm sure some of you have seen them on FB.. but thought I'd share anyway.

Cleaned them up a bit and gave The Beer domes/slides fatter drips and a "frosty" new look..

Working on widening the product line.. starting with green ones for St. Patty's. First pic is kind of lousy.. but you get the idea.

Sales are going well and seem to be picking up.. HOORAY beer!

Yeah, nice looking pieces, mate! I was going to say if you made them with black for the body, you have a Stout. But lo and behold, you're one step ahead of me. The blasting is a nice touch, really rounds out the look of them nicely. This makes me think it might be a nice accompaniment to have, say, a hitter to match modeled after a pool cue or a throwing dart. In fact, I kinda want to go make those now. But I probably won't so that idea is all yours if you can make it work.

One constructive criticism: it would look more true-to-life if the streams of suds coming down the side of the tankard were larger at the top and thinning going down. But really, that's the only criticism I can offer. In the future, if you wanted to add more flair to the design, you could construct some kind of mold to roll the pods on to put some fancy indentations into the tankards before applying the suds. Or for a run that won't be blasted, use some latticino for the handle maybe. If you wanted to get really fancy you could take the same concept and make a snifter design... Just some food for thought. Again, great work, keep at it!

Appreciate the input Jestr

One of my first/biggest concerns was that there wasn't much room for creativity in this design.. however as I move along with this project.. I'm finding more and more things that can be done with it... some of the things you've mentioned are in the works and some are some insightful ideas I hadn't really thought of...

My goal.. as long as the market receives it well.. (so far so good) is to flesh this out into a bigger product line.. releasing things once a month. So Dec was beers. Jan was a frosted beer improvement.. Feb was green beers for st. pats. March is beer bats.. (no pics yet but I'll keep updating this thread.

Have been talking with some local lamper friends about collabing on some beers.. have them add their touch.

TONS of ideas. don't want to give away too much of course.. Still appreciate your time and input man.. rep'd

@Leather-Keg slide is a pretty good idea.. I just might steal it..

One of the things I'm up against as far as "other" beers is the shape of the mug. The whole thing really rests on the shape of the mug. So making a Guiness slide wouldn't really work because you don't see them traditionally served in a mug..

Well.. I'm rambling.. but so far my journey with the beers has been GREAT. Its only been a couple months but they seem to be taking off.. here's to hoping its only the beginning. Cheers.

Thanks again
Matt

For example... made this display for one of my shops..

wood burned his logo into the bar top. Tap has a dichro image of my logo. This was just a prototype.. but the new ones prob won't be too different. Also, thinking about making a collectors version that holds one of each of The Beers.. and making the tap a dabber.. and instead of a wood burned logo.. sinking a dish there..

Now all I need is a collector that would actually want to give me money for this.. haha.. you know the easy part.

For the guinness couldn't you just flare the tube into a pint glass? I like guinness ;)

Essentially what I was thinking..black tubing. A guiness glass is a little narrow in the middle. Prob wouldn't work as a dome. Reg pint glass style might work.. but still I feel like its the whole "mug" thing is really what makes it.. its a built in handle for instances.

Point is..there's plenty of room for creativity..I plan on exploring the whole thing.

I was thinking if you wanted to make a Guiness bottle, you might be best served to make a matching hitter and size it comparably to the slide bodies. Then you'd have a nice Guiness bottle next to a frothy Stout slide. The body form is one thing, it wouldn't be too high of a challenge to make the constriction and flared bowl at the bottom where Guiness has that really attractive hip on the bottle. You could even sandblast the logo on it, if you could get a Guiness sticker that small. Might be a bitch, but for sandblasting I think vinyl is where it's at! You can get them custom cut at any size, they're resilient little stickers that are tricksy to apply and remove, but they stay exactly where they're supposed to so you get WAY clean edges. :) Also, Whiskeydrunk, I checked out your website and you make some nice work. I saw those jars of yours and I thought they were shot glasses for a second. Ever made any? Another nice addition to your line... Also the Christmas ornaments you made in 2009, I'm a big fan of the one with just the trees in it, and the one with the little white angel sitting inside. Those are both very visually striking.

Some kind words man.. thanks. Have made a few shot glasses actually.. similar tech. and thanks again for the input... hopefully its a long walk with these beers and I can start to have some real fun with it..

@eb.. thanks. MADE indeed did pick these up. They have really been helping hustle these.

Dont underestimate guinness. Think of it this way, guinness is probably the most marketable beer name in the merchandising department. A black pint shaped dome/ bowl with maybe butterscotch or caramel foam would be sweet. Make up some jack daniels bottle pinchy slides, pr
