I second all of that.
My cousin moved his wedding to August 25th. I can't imagine I can get up north twice in one month. He lives in Toledo. Sadly, I think this means I will probably have to miss Agi again this year.
Ha ha...not even...I won't be making it to the wedding.

Seriously, I'm all ready to go to the SGI to fix my withdrawals! But that's not even until May.
About the same thing here Aymie, last year an old friend was having his wedding in Philly in early August. Ha! Oh well!
Come on up Gypsea, I think I could handle jamming with Eddie this time...

last year involved a 40 hour drive with my dad and 5 days of friends and family in toledo , before AGI , and 4 days in toledo after. that was exhausting .
i think i'm gonna amtrack it this year , and enjoy a few days of downtime before and after.

I've been thinking a lot about AGI too, for the same reasons as Jay.
It's just too awesome to have only once a year (but probably too much work for more than once a year).
Tom, you've got to let us know what we can do to help... don't forget Jay and I are electricians! I'd be happy to come down a couple of days early to help with "infrastructure". Just save up a few jobs and say the word!

This thread could be the start of something big.
I agree the Glass Center needs to be filled with lampworkers all summer.
WE need another show like AGI but different, maybe a more structured event with some small classes held in different buildings. Lets say 4 hour classes on one technique then switch to another building for another class. Winding up with open torch to practice. for a week or a weekend.
Just an idea but it could work if we could make a deal with artists to do the classes.
OUR just make up a new name for an event get some sponsors have some demos and good eat.
It is also possible to rent a building and invite your friends to spend a week of lampworking or a month your choice.
I will do the work putting an event together and float all idea with Tom.

bear i need a lathe class to refine my skills and work on some of the more complex seal and i am sure there are others here that would love to come up for the same.
i would love to do a few days of that followed by a few days of furnace pulling.
or actually the other way around so we can use some tube on the lathe.
also, i am no baller by any strectch but i would be happy to bring my torch and tools to and could teach a few newbs some techs in between other goings on.
i do decent reversals and can sculpt a few things.
i would love to see you make another agi type venue, just more intimate and goal specific.
if not this year then we really need to get the ball rolling for next.
