So it was oxygen prices that finally pushed me out of glass several years ago. I owned a 337/"T" tank, and I was getting it filled about 3 times per week at $10 out the door. Then all of a sudden, when 2006 rolled around, Airgas tried charging me $34, claiming that this was their new glassblowers/daily purchaser rate. I obviously declined.
I quickly found the local Praxair as my new source, for $12, but I soon decided that driving 15 miles on the freeway with a "T" tank laying down in my Toyota Matrix was not really the safest of activities. These events, combined with many other factors just finally made me to decide to sell off everything.
Now I am in an area that is zoned for LOX delivery.
I just got quoted from a smaller company, for a 160L.
Rental: $35/month
Delivery: $55
LOX cost: $216
This seems high, but I am unsure. Perhaps I should wait until 2012 to see what happens, based upon my previous experience.
However, what are reasonable to wonderful prices for LOX rental + fill + delivery in late 2011? (Please include your location).

Where is SOCA are you?
I'm in Orange County CA I'm paying $111.00 delivered plus 34.00 month rental. I'm not sure what size as I'm experiencing brain fade today, but the dewar is on wheels. I know I pay a bit extra for those handy wheels too!
I'm not sure of their delivery area, but try California Tool and Welding Supply. My sales guy is Brian (714) 836-7327

Yeah, you were quoted list price, that seems about right (for list) but the reality is we're pretty heavy users and most welding suppliers will talk with you about a better negotiated price... AirGas used to do a "Contract" price that basically you would commit to a certain volume on an annual basis and as long as you met your quota you'd get it at contract price, and if you didn't meet the contract volume you'd get fined... That's what I was on 8 or 9 years ago, and since i went off contract they never really raised my price back to the higher non-negotiated rates. I went from paying $74/160 to about $90/180 today plus hazmat and tax, and I move my tank myself plus I bought my tank, so no lease... 3 years to pay it off vs. a lease, had it about 4 years no, so I saved $500 this year!
