Hello to all u glass junkies and a big thank you for all you have done and didn't even know it, lol
about a year ago I started realizing something in my life had to change,I had just gone through a bad breakup and was evaluating a lot while lookin for a healthy outlet for my time and energy when I found all of you haha. I have always wanted to have an artistic way to express myself and to someday be my own boss, i have always loved glass and pipes of all types for there form and function and just never made a connection to myself not even knowing where to begin. But it was my ego and the love of my fam that finally pushed me to start the path lol, I found out my baby bro had dabbled with it and so as the big bro I figured what the hell if he can do it why the hell shouldn't I at least try and after months of u tube and shitty sites I found you. Soon enough glass was all I was talkin about and so I would put up or shut up my brother baught us a class and it was amazing! (A huge thanks to Corey, man u rock and u changed my life!) I made my first paper weight and an awsome shitty spoon haha I was worried about droppin the F bomb (functional) but so glad I did.

So ever since I've been creepin here and soakin up whatever I can ,while slowly building my set up and now I'm just a couple tools and an oxy tank from diving in with all I have and I've never been this exited before, my life is changing and it feels pretty good now I'm goin through more drama but should have more time to invest soon enough........ sorry to ramble on lol well anyway thank you all so much, your inspiration, motivation senses of humor and love of your craft has kept me goin through this and kept me comin back day after day to gleam from the glass gods hehe in hopes that someday I'll be able to give back to this place and to others starting this amazing journey.

Good for you, and keep moving for word , and keep asking for help when you need it. And by the way for
some of us its not a craft, its fuctional glass art.

Hey Congrats for finding glass! I think in our community, glass has changed most all of us in only positive ways. Keep it up, don't give up, and have some damn fun!

Finaly got my porch studio all done and set up,I've never been so happy to see a burn on myself lol I can see now no matter how much I want to "try it all " I need to start small and slow and not beat myself up for slow progress haha. I think I'll start a crappy progress thread soon so I can get feedback on my failure mwahaha wanted to learn for the expression and joy and now need to pay bills lol so here's hopin

Thanks kut:) and I in no way meant to disrespect the artists at all.....I'm sorry if I did ,I've always seen myself as more of a inventer I see things as parts and puzzles lol I will prolly never consider myself an artist and deff not like u guys. I just felt as though the craft was the process and mastery of it and the art was the product such as other labors of love like clay or woodcraft:) meant no offense

Its functional glass art = Its a pipe, dildo, dabber or dish

people also call passing gas a fart

don't be scared of art or craft.
