Ground glass joints

I was wondering how to make glass on glass slide pieces. Is it acid etched or what??

what you need is silicon carbide grit and some water....you put the grit where you want the GonG seal between both pieces and get it a bit wet and twist them together for a long time............maybe theres another way but thats all i can think of

buy the joints....... shaft has em... many many lab supplies...

then ya just seal them up...

the stiles normal are just bowl on top of the male joint and a down stem on the bottom.... the female attached to the body....

ABR has them, and they have the transistion, I guess we call it a downstem or diffusor :) they were out of srtock when I ordered...

you need 19/22 or 19/38 for 18mm gong and the 14/20, I think for 14mm...


but I did see a guy with a custom ashctacher, he said the guy used etch all to make it, sheesh would that suck when for $4 you can jsut get them...
