I have a Pro-8 that I'm thinking about selling. How much do you think they depreciate? I need to figure out how many hours are on it later today. It has been awesome for me, but I am going to a shop that has liquid o2 and don't need it anymore.

Thanks guys.

Reselling larger industrial equipment is a nightmare. I would start keeping an eye on ebay and other equipment auction and ebay tracking sites, search around for ones that have sold...

I suspect the value will vary day by day as well as by market / region. You hit the right shop at the right time and place and you'll probably get close to what it costs new, or if you're in a hurry and need to move it maybe a few pennies on the dollar....

The general rule of thumb being "50%" of whatever it costs new doesn't often apply to larger ticket non-consumer style items. Find comparable units being sold and estimate a price... or list it on ebay with a reserve price, and see if anyone bites at your minimum (try 50% of new cost for the first couple listings, and lower it as you go)

Maybe run it by some body shops or welding shops and see if they might be interested or throw it up on craigslist you never know when someone is waiting for one to pop up. I would say a local sale would be the easiest.

I would say 3 to 4 thousand. I think we payed $7000 for ours, just the generator without the compressor. Maybe throw in the air dryer because you need it with our torches.

We run a Pro 8 and rage 2 Mirages full bore. We payed about $50 in electricity and get the filters from ebay which we do have to change more often than they suggest. I have been in the process of rebuilding our compressor and have running liquid for 2 months. With the Pro 8 it cost about $75-$100 per month for oxygen. For liquid I've been paying about $450 per month.

It's paid for itself fast.

Sorry, I just realized I'm rambling,hah.

Hope that helps,
Bryan

I think 4k obo. I could work out personally delivering it if it wasn't too far. I am outside of McCall, Idaho.
