Hey guys, I was doing a little forum trolling for info on DIY workspaces or converted desks (what have you). Where do ya'll blow your glass and how much did you invest in the workspace. (minus ventilation).

I would like storage and enough surface space to have easy access to rods and tools. Any ideas?

Ustfsf. I've spent roughly $200 (i can swing a hammer) for my work bench. Mine is 4'x16' Plus extra tables for misc cold working stations.

I am limited on space, very limited. I'd say I have about 4-6ftx2ft area I would be able to use. I searched just enough to find some studio pictures in the gallery. man, talk about some studios. I should just save my money for a down payment on a house/garage instead of a torch and kiln.

so you have space for a 4 foot long bench that extends two feet from the walll? i've looked at this ancient thread for ideas: http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93005

my work space evolved upon it's own capacity, i think everybodys does but looking at these tiny spaces helped me figure it out initially.

kaizan: you're not being very helpful when the first thing you do is give a facepalm to the person asking the question. it's not always easy to figure this out. even if you "have 200$ and can swing a hammer"

lol a fuck off already.

I would save up 1500-2000 grand to avoid a impulse buy on the torch/kiln combo.

700ish on a decent kiln then buy that middy from the other thread. use the rest for vent, tools, and some glass.

I would go to a flea market garage sale and buy a bench then slap a sheet of hardie backer on it.

Nice, that sounds like a plan! I'm definetly going to try to goto some garage sales and find a suitable work space.
