This V from theblastshield.com is designed for bigger work, and for longevity. The V is comprised of 2 removeable graphite blades.
This means, once the center of the V gets dull, you can quickly remove the 4 allen set screws, reverse the blades, and have a totally fresh V... and you can easily sharpen the blades yourself.
I got this prototype in early september, 2011.. I was hoping to review this way sooner, but only last week did I finally wear out the blades enough to want to sharpen them!
(And this was not for lack of working..i'm a very productive full timer..I use this for cutting down big tubing, line tubing, bat constrictions, mouthpiece prep, sectioning tube, and double maria cuts/shaping..so literally thousands of uses since september.)
You can see the wear I did to both sides of the blades in the white backgrounded picture.. not all that much of a dent in this great graphite.
After about 5 minutes with some 220 grit sandpaper, the blades were back to sharp and straight (I used the v for a week before getting the wood background picture).
This is a sweet V with a big sturdy base, and rubber feet that keep the base off the work surface, and from moving around.
I don't have the dimensions tonight, I will get them tomorrow.. bigger than other V's I've seen.
I am not paid for endorsing this product, but this was based on my design, and the prototype was given to me to try and review.
Some people will probably want a smaller base, and it might be too big for some people, but those are the only possible negative things I have found about the v.
Call blastshield for a quote. 100$ is about what to expect.
