Class: Emilio Santini - Venetian Beads and Sculptures

Learn to make miniature beads and venetian sculptures with Emilio Santini. From scurrying insects, intricate animals and exquisite human form, a combination of soft glass designs will be covered. Blown beads, venetian style, how to apply soft glass objects onto beads, and off mandrel sculptures will also be practiced. Techniques such as heat control, applying heat back into and denying heat away from, will be skillfully demonstrated by Maestro Emilio. Lecture includes working soft glass vs boro, working off mandrel with punty and blowing with soft glass. This class is mostly soft glass practice however borosilicate glass can be used with most of the techniques. The class is open to every level of experience.
