I'm hoping someone can shed some light as to the pricing for subscriptions for Glassline and The Flow for Canadians.
The prices are as follows:

The Flow: U.S. Subscription - $28
Canada Subscription - $48

Glassline: U.S. Subscription - $28
Canada Subscription - $46

Basically I'm wondering how it can possibly cost five dollars more per issue to mail a magazine to Canada than it does to mail it domestically. The U.S.P.S. website is pretty confusing but as far as I can tell, it costs $1.30 to mail a magazine to a location in the U.S. (according to this chart (http://postcalc.usps.com/MailServices.aspx?m=2&p=0&o=3&dz=90210&oz=40077&pob=0&MailingDate=6/4/2012&MailingTime=8:00%20AM#)) and the same envelope costs $1.80 to mail to Canada (according to this chart (http://ircalc.usps.com/MailServices.aspx?country=10054&m=2&p=0&o=3)). 50 cents extra would mean my subscription would cost $30.
Now it's very possible I'm missing something here seeing as I don't know much about mailing magazines from the U.S. to Canada, but I just can't figure out how it would cost five dollars per issue more. I'm assuming there is a perfectly logical explanation for this and I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that there's some factor I haven't taken into account... I hope my conveyed tone is more curious than confrontational.

I don't know bout magazines, but it costs me $12 instead of $6 to ship a jig in a small flat rate box to Canada.

^ that I can understand. I'm just going by the USPS website rates and the fact that I received a catalog on Friday with a postage of $1.95. Maybe it's lighter than the magazines though, if that matters at all.

There may be other fees/licenses involved in selling subscriptions abroad other than postage. I have no idea; just a guess.

^ yeah that's the kind of thing I'm thinking.... I'm not saying they're screwing Canadians, just wondering what I'm missing here.

maybe the Canadian price is quoted in Canadian dollars? In that case you should be paying like $700 an issue, also, cheese and cigarettes.

Our dollar is pretty much par ever since yours tanked. Either way the price is in USD.

Bo,

It is def the shipping. I want to remember that it is almost $5 per issue, unless we lied and said they were all gifts...
I will find out the exact cost tomorrow. If it is not inconvenient, you could save money by having a dist. send you and issue with supply order or your next stop by.

just a cheaper option...
