Hey there, fairly new behind the torch and reside in the Greater Sacramento area. I had A good friend of mine who's a bit north of me (Quix) show me his studio one day and from then I have been mezmorized by watching him work :twitch: and decided to give it a shot. I was able to purchase an 8m torch w/ sm7 tip, a couple oxy cons, basic tools, and a kiln with a couple extras from him. That day, a door to a new world was opened and I had found my Medium

Sadly though, recently I was forced to move and have no space to set up but thanks to everyone here at The Melting Pot and my new Bible (Contemporary Lampworking) provided by "Stix" I still have been able to learn more and more everyday. I would like to say Thank you one more time for providing a community to help me pursure my new found love .:evilLaugh

Sounds like a classic tale of boro love, awesome! Welcome to the forum and don't hesitate to ask if you're curious about how something works around here.

Quix welcomed me here not long ago. I've got a premix adapter and a couple tips for the 8m if you have the need.

D3rk: Ya Quix is a good guy, I also very much appreciate the offer, as soon as I gather more funds I'm surely going to need to upgrade!

LarryC: Most definetley appreciate your willingness to help, I've actually been thinking of moving to the East Bay area if not more North myself

Do this.... Larry produces gorgeous glass. I have been mainly "self-taught" and the rare occasions I get to see other lampers work I learn SO SO SO much faster.

Also, this website is awesome... I would be nowhere near where I am in my boro "career" (read: life) without it.
