Not new to glass but fairly new to this board. I've lurked here on occasion but finally taking the time to introduce myself and say Hi. I've been working with glass for 15+ years, I've worked glass in hot and cold form both large and small scale. Most recently I've gotten into carving glass and am really enjoying the wide variety of effect that are possible. Attaches are few shot of my current work...beads and marbles here....check out my face book page to see more. Thanks for looking and I look forward to getting to know you all better.

Hello Karved Kati
who did you apprentice under to learn how to make such beautiful stuff?
Hi spiralout! I have to say that I have been truly blessed in my glass career to work with what I consider to be some of the greats in the industry. When I first started in glass, some 15+ years ago now, I worked in stained glass cutting, grinding, and shaping glass into just the perfect shape to fit the window. Then when I got into hot glass I found a job where I managed a beadmaking/artist studio in So Cal. It was part of my job to play host and TA for the guest artists and as a result I was often blessed with one on one play time with the artists. I've taught beadmaking and sculpture work for years and have been a TA for other instructor friends for 10+ years now. Last year I was invited to work for an artist who is a top notch glass carver and I learned a ton. It was truly inspirational to come full circle and be able to incorporate some of the coldworking I did at the beginning of my career with new tools and inspiration on hot glass work. I'm not really one for name dropping, as the list of artists who have encouraged and inspired me is a long one, I'd be afraid to offend by forgetting someone since many of the artist I've worked with are also great friends. They know who they are and how thankful I am for all they have done to inspire and encourage me. I've had an amazing 15+ years in glass and can't wait to see what the next 15+ brings.
Hope to keep showing you more beautiful stuff as time goes by! :)

I guess i was just wondering if Andrew Brown aka Carver B was a teacher at all. I just see a strong resemblance in your work to his and ironically your names are similar as well.

Had a few requests for more pictures so here ya go...these are pieces I karved for the Graber boys. The first 4 are dishes made by Brent Graber and the last shot the dishes were made by his son Ian.

Love the dishes!
Nice work, it's very cool to see more people using glass like this, in traditional ways (thinking also of the deep carved tube from Germany on the forum, too).

Hey there lady! Didn't realize this was you until I saw your recent post in the old ihgi thread. Welcome. I think you will like it here.
For all the rest of you, I had the pleasure of meeting Kati at the FFO in Vegas, she was a competitor as well. She saved my back and my sanity. She is a cool chick, quite talented and fun to hang out with. It's quite possible several of y'all have met her as well. She gets around to several events.
Love the new work you are sharing. Don't stop.
