Hey guys, Im having a small problem. I purchased a rather large kiln, it does a wonderful job annealing, but at the moment I have no way of keeping my pieces hot after making them. I was thinking of keeping the kiln hot and placing the pieces in it right after making them. What would be the minimum temperature I should keep them at so they dont crack before a full anneal?

I don't work large stuff yet, so I use fiber blanket for a slow cool and only run the kiln when I can fill it. I'd say around 900 for boro, not familiar with soft glass temps.

I have a large kiln that I leave at about 1050-1100 and put in finished tubes as I make them. Then anneal that group when im done

I garage at 950 if it is gonna be for a while. Some of the boro colors do not like to be garaged for long periods of time and this was what TAG suggested. I would bump that to 1050 to pick up larger pieces.
