I saw at a store replacement blades for iron thread and PVC (2 different types)....Can I use these blades for glass blowing?....They damn expensive online....I could easily go buy some new tile cutters with blades for $8 bucks at Habor F. but I don't feel like buying extra stuff when all I need are new blades. Where can I get a 2" long - square carbide blade for my scorer local too?

most of the time it is just as cheap to replace the entire device than just replace the blades. I have a scoring knife as well but I bought the jaws and little jaws from artco and the replacement wheels are 6 dollars a peice. if your in Ithica, you prob should go to corning. I think his name is Jaush but he just moved into a much bigger location and is the only supply of glass tools and such in corning.

No, the blades for pipe cutters are not the same and can't be used for glass.

You can usually find replacement wheels in the tile area of Lowes and/or Home Depot.

I know the Leponit wheels are expensive but they are worth the price (as long as everybody, and their brother, in the studio doesn't use them without permission).

As with everything, you get what you pay for.

The square stock for the square scoring tools is just a pcs of square tool steel. But you usually need to buy a length 12 inches long. to shorten it you put it in a vise and make a score on it with a hack saw and then give it a smack with a hammer to snap it.
