Anyone else seen this? Still a bit in its infant stages, and takes a powerful PC (or mac) to render more complex designs, but it's fun to tinker with.

it lets you build cane in a virtual environment and then stack it or roll it into a traditional glass form....

would be really useful for designing tube pulls.....

it's an automatic system, will self render, you just drag and drop things... check out the website for a brief instructional thing (I think)

it takes a pretty good video card, I dont think it runs well on cheap low end PCs and laptops

Have faith in the low end computers. You'll need some playdough, and electric chair hooked up to bruce springstein cd on a repeat, a hurple, and a few pen caps.

This looks pretty cool, thanks.

GlassCAD, excellent !!

ETA:

colors1.txt contains the color definitions.

If anyone has, or can determine, the RGB values for the various borosilicate
colors it would be very easy to add them to this software.

ETA: With a GTX260 this program runs far better in full screen than it does
in a window.

How do you sort out the RGB value for a striking color, though? Or copper colors that reduce to red?

I guess it would be ok for some crayons and the wysiwyg stuff, but a lot of the palettes are flame sensitive, so the values won't help much.
