TIMES, THEY ARE A CHANGIN'...
After a good 12 year run, Eugene Glass School humbly announces relocation in the process. The nonprofit business will no longer operate from 575 Wilson Street in Eugene, and will spend the time necessary on the search for a new location.
Eugene Glass School’s last class at 575 Wilson Street will be the Patty Gray / Ryan Staub class next week. Due to legal obligations, we ask that you not visit the building unless invited to do so. You can reach us at the same phone number (541) 342-2959 and we will have staff and volunteers working to answer your questions and help get the business back up and running as efficiently as possible. We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to move forward with the Eugene Glass School mission.
As posted last fall*, we are still indebted to the current owners of 575 Wilson Street for an unfortunate property tax bill incurred after a misfiling years ago. Sadly, we must eliminate the Hot Shop Studio and liquidate its assets in order to help alleviate this burden. As soon as we have confirmed a list of items for sale, we will post the information for you. We have every intention of continuing our mission, and plan to relocate as soon as possible. We will definitely need help with the move and will post an announcement when we are ready.
On a good note, Eugene Glass School was successfully nominated for the next Chase Community Giving Grant session. Voting begins in September and we will look to YOU to help us gain the votes needed to help with the school’s relocation and continued property tax debt to the current owners of 575 Wilson Street. Continued News for Eugene Glass School will be posted on our Facebook Page.
And we still need your help! We are looking for responsible volunteers in the office on a regular basis and WE ARE STILL IN NEED OF A WEBMASTER SUPER HERO!! We need someone to help us start over with our website design and purpose. We have great ideas…and this would be a superb way to help out Eugene Glass School, your nonprofit glass art school & mini community. Compensation based on experience; donations of time and service are greatly appreciated.
Again, we thank you for your patience, support, and dedication to Eugene Glass School while we get through this big transition.

*For 3 years, the nonprofit property tax exemption that Eugene Glass School qualifies for was voided due to changes in the title of the building and building ownership. The Eugene Glass School Board of Directors was unaware of the changes and void of exemption status until the landlords notified them of this fact. Because paying property taxes is part of the lease agreement Eugene Glass School has with the landlords, Eugene Glass School was unable to dispute the bill. The landlords paid the bill to the county and now that bill is due them. Our landlords have been ever supportive of Eugene Glass School and gave breaks on rent in the early years, which helped Eugene Glass School survive. Eugene Glass School would like to uphold this obligation.
