go buy some lavender essential oils and keep em handy near your torch,or in your first aid kit as long as you keep it handy time really is of the essence, apply liberally ASAP to burned area and experience miracles.. for real i dont really get blisters when i use lavender on my burns and they heal way faster then when i dont. ive found that nothing works like lavender for burns. aloe doesnt even compete in the same league i promise you. happy lamping kiddies...your welcome.
Any oil is not recommended to be applied immediately to a burn. Oil can insulate the burn and continue the damage depending on the severity of the burn

Yeah, I suggest submerging the burn in WATER. If you can get a burn under water within 5 seconds, you will be much better off than putting essential oil on it.

I have some in the studio, but aloe has been my go to on non critical burns (burns that dont keep me off torch) the lavender smells to much and the oil makes my tube slippery. Aloe soaks into the skin quickly. I apply liberally and go right back to work. I have heard the lavender is miraculous though.
Lavender is good stuff.
Take all the heat out of the burn with cold water (keep it in cold water for 5-20 minutes)
and then apply the Lavender for excellent results.

Muph, does lavender essential oil really qualify as an oil? It's not like your applying butter or olive oil or something.
Anyway, love the lavender oil. If I can't find my bottle, the only other thing I swear by is yellow mustard. Yellow mustard can't really substitute for a quick deodorant though, so there's another plus for lavender oil.
I believe it is an oil. It shouldn't be applied until after the burn has cooled. Using refrigerated mustard could also work to cool the burn as does a slice of potato. Its cool moisture that is the goal, which is most easily achieved by cool running water. I've never heard of the deodorant thing, maybe it helps by holding in moisture?

No, it just makes you smell like lavender oil instead of like unwashed hippie. Actually, more like unwashed hippie with lavender oil in your pits, but it's a start.

Medical attention should be sought for care of blisters from any second degree burn. Cold water or compresses (do not use ice) will again help relieve pain. If the burn area is small enough you can immerse it in water or hold it under a running tap (not so forceful that it causes pain or breaks blisters). If the second degree burn covers more than 10-percent of the body i.e. an entire leg or back, immediate medical attention should be sought for care of blisters and for advice on how to relieve pain, protect against infection and guard against dehydration. Third degree burns involve actual destruction of all layers of skin and may require skin grafts to heal. Because nerve endings have been destroyed there may be little or no pain.

better yet, ask your doctor for a script for silvadene. that stuff works miracles, immediately, is actually a thing meant for treating burns, and is dirt cheap. i would actually argue it's cheaper than lavender, i spent 10$ on a huge bottle i've had for 4 years.... at this rate it will probably last me my entire natural life barring some freak accident.

if you use cold water( just a few degrees above freezing is optimum), you dont get any blisters at all.

Just buy a 5 dollar aloe vera plant and use its sap. Neem oil does wonders for the actual healing.
As for lavender, I'd axe it if it were growing in my yard, and I would never rub its essential oil on my skin. Why? Because it's an endocrine disruptor. http://www.livestrong.com/article/171036-lavender-oil-male-hormones/
I'll never understand the enormous fear of western medicine
yup faded, my sentiments exactly, Pee on it yo.......!
Not sure why but it works, that is what the old soft glass guys passed down my way. I thought they were so full of shit when they told me to pee on my burns. but it really does work.
don't knock this one till you try it. really 100% not bullshitting you at all.
I mostly ignore burns and just keep working. But if I get a bad one I pee on it ASAP.
Or there is always this.. ;)

Yellow mustard. It stops the blister from forming in the first place. I use it all the time and it never ceases to amaze me.

I love Lavender Essential oil - it is just one of Nature's miracles for so many things.
Yes - you are correct about it being fab for burns as well as cuts, stings, bites and even as a 'depression chaser' in a vaporiser or vessel hung near my work bench (far enough not to ignite but close enough that the heat from my torching releases those volatile oils).
I use it in so many ways and so many things, can't live without it.
It's great in a carrier oil for a relaxing massage for sore joints, helps calm nerves and anxiety, a few drops in a warm bath is also soothing, add it to your favourite soap mix and use it as a room freshener direct or in a pump spray.....the list just goes on......
Oh yeah - of course it's also great for soothing that burn until you have time to put your piece away and attend to it! :D :D :D
*peace*
