You know, several years ago on another forum I don't a survey to find who folks thought were the top 5 marble makers. I asked people to email me their choices and I compiled them and posted the results.

Man, did I ever catch a load of crap! Got called names... I thought it was a innocent, fun thing to do, but some artists got ALL bent outta shape about it.

Not saying you shouldn't have asked the question, just recalling what a pain it was when I did.

out of curiosity, do you know why they got all bent out about it? seems strange....i'd love to someday see my name on a list like that.....unless that was the issue. some artists thinking they are better then others, but then coming out lower on the list?

Yup, I think you hit the nail on the head, it was mainly the fear of not placing as well as they thought they should based on the effort they'd put into their careers. Like I said, I thought (and most agreed) that it was just a fun, harmless thing to do.
