I have used the search function and read a couple different threads about what i think the answer is i just want to make sure i understood everything correctly before i go ahead and start cutting things i shouldnt have.

I have a brand new Lynx and it has the little fittings on the end of the hoses.

i also bought brand new 25 foot hoses from mountain glass and they have what i believe are called "b" fittings on both ends of the hoses. i have 2 hose clamps also purchased from mountain glass as well.

Now if i understood the answers in the threads i read earlier i am supposed to cut off one end of the "b" fittings on the hose purchased from mountain glass and then fit those over the end of the fittings on my lynx and after that clamp them down with my handy dandy hose clamps ?

so im going to cut where my right about where my thumb is and slide the newly cut ends of the hose onto the lynx fittings and clamp down with the hose clamps CORRECT ???

Like i said i read the threads earlier, but reading and making sure you understand what you read are two totally different things.

Thank You.

Yeah man you understand correctly - go for it, just match the colours of the hoses.

If they don't fit consider this. When my lynx came it had 1/4" connectors in its hoses which were the wrong size for my hose. I had to buy some to fit.

yea i went ahead and cut the ends off the hose and now they are slowly but surely fitting onto the lynx's penis fittings lol

The hoses i bought are 1/4 t grade.

As long as its not all hooked to the tank and pumping gases i like to heat up the end of the hose im trying to fit over the barb, makes it more pliable and helps it expand.

jbob i dont have it hooked up to the gases yet so your saying i can heat the hose up with a bic lighter to make it expand a bit and fit over a lil easier ? Kuz i got the propane hoses all clamped but the last little bit of the oxy is being a bit of a bitch

In the future, leave a foot or two connected to the "cut off b fitting". That way you have some b fittings on hoses that can be are to frankentein some future project :)

Sounds like you know what youre doing!

Also, hot water can help soften the rubber, then theres no fire near your hoses!

Yea I read in another thread to leave 6 inches to a foot for something incase I needed it somewhere down the line and I did just that.

Ill be psyched if I one day need those fittings for something

Don't forget to soap test everything for leaks.

Your "penis" is a hose barb.

And, while spit has worked on mine, there are other options.
