Hey guys. I have stumbled across this piece on etsy http://www.etsy.com/listing/112518370/rocket-bears-in-space-grateful-dead. I was wondering. Is this sandblasting or something else? If this is sandblasting how much does a machine to do work like this cost? Thanks for the help and insight!

I would prob buy a already built one down the road. I was just amazed at how clean that looked. Alsoi have seen some amazing sandblast work and i think down the road with my graphic design degree i would like to add that to my glass.

you can get a bench top blast cabinet on ebay for under 120.
then you need a compressor, and probably some sort of exhaust setup for the cabinet, which i would guess you could use a shop vac if you really needed it.

never eva eva use silica carbide blasting media. aluminum oxide is what you want. silica carbide is like blasting with frit, and will fuuck your lungs up with the quickness.

get a 100 particulate respirator. wear it.

i get down in a full on auto painters plastic suit these days

blasting is a dusty, nasty process and breathijng that shit in/ getting it all over your shit is no fun.

I blasted in a tote sometimes outside. I would wear a sandblasting mask with respirator. Now I have a booth.
You can get a speedy blaster cheap.
