can't say i have, but i did consider blending oxygen into the air line with a y splitter flippped around around backwards. if you want to try it, do it like that. remember (or know) that the lower air knob premixes air into the propane. if you put pure oxy in there, that could be a little dangerous or at least really loud. if you were to manifold the oxy into the air, you could add it slowly, and then clean it back out with the air.
the tiny little metal knob does this on the older model herbies for gas air flames (keeps them from blowing out). if you forget to close it and have your lower air knob open, sometimes there's a little premix going on in the outer rings. as soon as you open up the handwheel, BOOOOM they back fire and it's like a cannon. on the new model herbies, like mine, the tiny metal knob only adds oxy to the very outer ring without the chance of backfiring, because the outer ring is ONLY for oxygen.
if you try this, i doubt it would harm the torch as long as you keep the flame velocity up (ie no short candles/ low pressure flames) but i can't guarantee any thing so be careful. please contact me if you do it... it's been something i've been curious about for a long time.
@ nodice: i'll be in boston dec 7-9 (craft-boston show), would love to meet you
