Ok, I email him back telling him that his math is all wrong, ( 30 pieces/hr @ $.50 is $15, not $30 or including operation costs, that im not into making them at all , and that wholesale one-hitters go for about three times his offer of $.50 cents.

He emails back and says hes gonna 'just' set up a cnc glass lathe and hire someone to run it.

then suggests i make 500 of them, hell take 50 "right away" and then tells me i should sell the rest to head shops, making $60 bucks an hour!
(again, 30/hr x $1.50, is $45, not $60) wtf??

I want to take this opportunity to counter a poster in this forum who claimed I was dishonest and was trying to exploit the glassworkers by selling one hitters!
As a personal statement, I feel a person's honesty is just about everything, and this person's allegations are not true. The glass work I need is for an invention, not what he says.
I hope I have cleared up any misunderstanding created by the other post.

I have a cnc machine shop and building (slowly) a cnc glass lathe.

I doubt it at this point, but, if you offered and hourly wage+gasses you might get more takers than offering .50 cents per clear hitter.

Also, if you described the intent of your invention, you might be more able to convince people you aren't just selling hitters.

If you can really afford a lathe, you should be able to afford more per item. If not, make them yourself.

Well, frankly, I hope you are enjoying the joke, but I dealt with you honestly. Yes, I made a math mistake, and I'll tell you why. I am creating a product, and there are about a hundred details to deal with. Now, in your case, I offered you $30 an hour cash to help me get this product out. You responded with a lot of hostility and claimed I was trying to con you. You were the one who said I was trying to crank out one hitters. This is not true, as I am an inventor, and the piece is part of an invention.
By making false allegations about me, you are saying a lot about yourself. I myself am very clear and sure of my honesty and above board dealing with people. It's about my highest value.
That is all I want to say to you, and I am not going to continue this conversation, except to clarify any mis-statements about my honesty and set people straight, if they will listen.

Its several vaporizer designs with a really nice jewelry look. I make it on a cnc lathe out of bronze. The devices on the market are mostly "plastic" looking, and this is a a beautiful gold piece. People go wow when they see it, but whether the market likes it is always up to chance. The cnc lathe makes them at a rate of 500 a day, but market demand rules. The way I see products like this, it has to work and people have to love it because it has wow factor.

If you ever have any ideas for combining stainless steel or gold and glass, please send me private message, and I would like to talk with you.

Oh, and by the way, getting something into manufacture is a shit load of work. Its taken about a year and a half from the time I made a few.

Its a world away from the common head shop one hitter because of the precision required. I wish it was identical, because then I could just get a load of them from China.

In a negotiation, no one is forcing anyone to do anything, or trying to pull the wool over their eyes. I have to say, I think some of you have been trained in school to be socialists. The wasted time is people flaming based on a false perception. It takes a lot of time to do flaming. I am so glad I am not into it, preferring to accomplish things instead. Right now, I have worked over a year to get this product out. Its a LOT of work, like climbing Mt. Everest alone. (people do that.) But the product is a beautiful thing, and I put my best into it, so if it fails in the market, that will be OK. But I know it won't fail.
