Hey guys. So i set my goal today to try to get my hands on some oxygen tanks or concentrator. I called all around and it seems like every oxygen supplier around me wants about $180 deposit plus $44 year rental plus fill fee. So all that comes out to over $250. I decided i would look for a concetrator on craigslist. I found this http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/hab/3343128793.html. I am trying to figure out if this would work for a National 6b and a Redmax down the road. Even if it would work for the National right now i think i would but it over paying $250 for just a tank and than $30 a refill every time. Sorry guys i tried to google first to see but found nothing. Thanks for the help.

Maybe look for some tanks on craigslist......then you own the tanks and only have to pay the refill cost. I bought two tanks for $100 each and now I just exchange them and pay the $26. You could also buy the tanks then get a homefill and concentrator and fill your own tank.

That concentrator would most definitely not run a redmax. You may be able to arse it with the 6b, but invacare is more of a medical unit than it is industrial gas. If I were you, I would stick to the tanks for now and try to haggle them down (yes, it is acceptable with gas companies), or spring for an EX-15 and have a quality machine that you will still be able to use in the future. This is a decent chart showing maximum oxygen consumption for most torches, and what concentrators will run them: http://artistryinglass.on.ca/charts/oxygenrequirementsfortorches.html

buy a homefill. there's a guy in the member's classifieds selling one for $500 shipped. it's the best money i've spent so far.....i've got unlimited tanked oxy and 3 concentrators for back up in case the homefill shits the bed.

That oxycon would run the minor top fire of a red max reasonably well but for the bottom burner you will need a much bigger oxygen supply. I run a GTT bobcat(similar requirements to a minor burner) off a concentrator like that and it's fine for making small boro work but don't expect to be breaking any speed records if you go that route.

Yeah but for 300$ you might as well just bump it up and get an M15 (350$ + shipping). The psi is more of what would make the difference in this situation, since the invacare has 5 and an M15 has 15.

That's true. I caught my invacare 5 for $50 on CL which is under the cost of filling 2 bottles. Cost surely matters.
