View Full Version : Does anyone else have days

Where things on the torch just don't seem to want to go your way ? I mean I know I'm pretty new to this but everything I try today just seems to he staring back at me with its middle finger out. And I love it, the constant challenge is the best part. But does anyone else have that problem where some days even the most simple things just aren't happening the way you would like ? And if so what do you do ?

Yeah, I have those days.

Yes.

They get fewer and farther between, and maybe for some people they stop all together, but not me. Every once in a while a day comes where I just fuck everything up. I start to get tense, and that makes i worse. It starts a negative feedback loop that just doesn't let up. My solution is to leave the torch for the day and be productive in other manners. There is always paperwork and a million other things to do.

The glass will be there tomorrow.

for sure i have those days. usually i can tell that it's going to be one of "those days" by the time i've started my first project of the day. more often then not i'll just give up for the day. it just seems some days my hands don't do what my brain tells them to.

Some days it just doesn't flow. Other days it flows great. Depends on my mood. The shitty days turn into prep days.

i try and laugh for as long as possible and persevere. if its just regular work it eventually gets done, just takes longer/more things breaking etc. if i spend too much time failing on something new i am trying to learn its hard to not get a bit depressed occasionally though.

yes and that's what the can of damnation and safety breaks are for...I can't stay off for long though, even on bad days I get right back at it after 10-15 mins of cooling off

Yea I took a break and played some call of duty Took my frustration out on people online. I'm gunna go back out in a few I'm just glad to hear I'm not the only one who has these frustrating days where failures far outweigh anything halfway decent. Thank everyone.

yeah, I have them days sometimes, usually when I try and tackle a project I know Im not really up for, or when Im overly stressed.

Take an extra dab, run call of dooky through a shredder and go get battlefield 3.

Usually when I am having "one of those days" I go out and check my propane tank to see that my pressure is fading.

If that isn't the issue and the problems continue, It's often better to take a break, if not a day off.

I ended up just taking the day off. I tried some floral implosion marbles and I just kept boiling the colors and making it look nothing like what I was going for, after that I just took a breather started playing call of duty on my ps3 and once that got somewhat tiresome I watched some sons of anarchy. I'm really looking forward to trying again tomorrow and hopefully things will progress and go in a different direction.

Oo and thanks everyone for not making me feel like an idiot, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has these types if days.

P.s. Alien I'd play battlefield 3 if more people I knew played but they all play cod so it's more fun to team up than go all solo status on bf3.

Fuck no, and if you are having bad days, especially after you just started, than you need to quit now. It's just like I told my three year old learning calc. This shit is easy as pie and cake... in a blender with some mustard... add some twinkies too cause you know the people will pay for that shit. If that made sense than you are on your way!

When I start fucking shit up I'm usually tired or hungry. Take a nap, get a snack, and safety break.

James: how is your day going?

Me: fucking terrible. The only thing I have been able to accomplish is destroying $20 in tubing and two hours worth of prep.

James: it's time to go inside then baby

Me: fuck that, I have to make some money today. We are broke. I am over it.

It's likely at that moment that the prepped tube in my hand explodes, at which point I probably cry a little, curse him for being right, and go inside to level up my mechromancer or attend to the mountain of laundry.

These days happen to me as well. There are always other things to do, productive or not.

bad days are okay, bad weeks take a toll. try to go 14 years without a couple bad months in there, it's impossible. if we aren't struggling we aren't growing.

How about a bad month?

The roof blew off my studio, fixed it. Kiln element broke, fixed it. Sprained foot and ankle, still fixing it. Kiln roof collapsed, fixed it. Now everything but my foot is all better, and it's cold and humid crack city out in my studio.

Yet here I am, getting all safe and informed and bundled and going to make a grip of spoons...though I am honestly too old to know exactly what a grip is.

Dan Kooper

I think a grip is as many as you can hold in your hands.
This includes stacking and balancing.

So since I have girl hands, I don't have to work as long to make a grip. Sweet.

I can take 25 pipes into my house with no case and still get the door. Usually I use all my pockets though for the horned ones. And Elbo pits. Stacking them against my chest. I've had friends pull in on the walk to my house and the said it looked like I was stealing them because it was cold and I was running.

Mer your perspective is always money ................

If not for the bad days, how would I know when I had a good day??

On really bad days I smash whatever I just ruined and go home and play xbox. but on the regular bad days when Im not doing as good as I want I will work on the easiest thing I can and crank them out. Its a good way to get the boring prodo out of the way and after a day of doing the boring work im usually itching to bust out something nice the next day.

I think all of you just have problems. I've never had any, just ask the weatherlady in a town near you.

You have to learn to ignore the vast majority of what funk says. I used to wonder if he was sinbad...it would be too perfect for both sinbad and nomad to exist here and both be batty. (No offense nomad, but you know some strange things have gone down in the past).

I don't know if I can think of more than one or two times anything I saw funk post made sense. I remember it happened recently and it shocked the hell out of me. Stop letting him get you worked up.
