If you have not heard the news by now, you will soon. The Boston GAS conference for 2013 has been cancelled. There is no replacement site. There will be no conference in 2013. This obviously has a great effect on our "Lifeforms" event. My first inclination is to go ahead with it anyway, but I am not sure how to do this. GAS was supposed to provide us with the Boston venue and now we do not have one. I need a few days to figure out how to proceed. I will post my decision here as soon as I do. Until then, I am open to your suggestions.

I'm sorry, Robin! That stinks. I hope you can figure something out.

I saw this too, will they just reschedule it in Seattle like last year, or is the GAS conference underfunded or miss organized... I'm sure if you have a solid line up Robin it could really be placed anywhere but the gas conference is a wonderful audience, maybe a sofa teaser thing ??? do I say state fair ... Greer GAS would be the best.

Wow, super bummed.

This was going to be my first GAS conference, since it is so close to me.

The conference is cancelled and there is no replacement venue. There will be no GAS conference in 2013. No one is more disappointed than I am. But I would just like to ask everyone to go easy on GAS for this development. From what I know it appears to be the best decision available. It is going to be a terrible blow to the organization and they are going to need our support to survive. Don't cancel your membership. Hang in there. GAS will recover from this.

Wow, what a bummer. I was really looking forward to it. GAS has long been my favorite show to attend. Definitely the most informative and well organized. It may not be as big a retail show for us as some, but it is a TRUE conference of artists. That's what I love about it so much. I have never been to Boston either, was really excited. I just hope that GAS doesn't get piled on for this. I'm sure they are way more bummed than us.

Hey RAM.... it would obviously shorten the deadlines, but can it be done in conjunction with the IFC? Still would be out east, and is really the only comparable event I can think of.

that's cool they can put time and energy into the next event, I was more curious if you knew any insider info, I think GAS is one of the best thing us glass workers have.
