View Full Version : changing the wheel on small Jaws scoring tool?

need to repplace the wheel on my small jaws scoring tool, but cant seem to get the pin out, looks kinda like a rivet?
any input?

Grind or file the rivet end and hit with a center punch or nail. I'm not sure about the replacement of said rivet to re-install the blade. Post a pic of what you got and I can answer better.

When I bought mine came with a little wooden dowel for changing blade.Sweet tool tho wish Id gotten 1 sooner

hammered my 4mm tungsten through to get the rivet looking piece outhole, then hammered a screw to get the larger 'U' wheel guide out.
dont know that i remeber seeing a wooden dowel with mine...
anyway, problem solved.

Hello everyone. There is a compression pin with a rivet on one side holding the carbide in place. Starting on the opposite side of the rivet tap pin out with dowel. The pin and rivet will come out as one unit. Replace carbide, push pin back in place. A small tap or two may be necessary to set flush. Hope this helps!

i wuz wunderin what the dowel was for...i jus used a small screw driver and it seemed like it spun it out. oh mike i guess we can get new carbide from you??
