I've seen a couple that are only 4" of brass in length. I'd like one exactly like the graphite economy tool but all brass. It's important the diameter stays the same until the last inch where pencil points. I can't find any!! :o:

Online Metals - Free machining brass (http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?id=1117&step=2&top_cat=79)

Pencil reamers are generally 1/4" in dia - insert into drill press and apply file :D

Just be careful - brass is a really great conductor of heat, and it's likely that a tool like that won't remain holdable for very long. If you wanted something that could be held longer, you could either thread the brass section or braze it onto the end of a length of stainless all-thread, and cover the all thread with a length of brake line for heat insulation...

Or just sear your hand until you build up some really tough skin.

Or mount it in a wooden dowel rod.
