The title probably doesn't describe it right, but you should definitely check this out.

It's free to stream or download from the site. Well worth the time, and if you like it, consider donating to support it.

Cool video, thanks for sharing!

I can sympathize with these guys about the hassles at the border.... it's pretty much the same for us Canadians going into the US. Can be a stressful experience for absolutely no reason. Pull you over, search your car for hours with no explanation for anything, just brusque coldness and rudeness and all-round negativity.

I remember crossing the border as a kid, in the back of my parent's car - never seen them so stern and serious before that, "Don't say a word. Don't look at the officer, don't talk to the officer unless he asks you something, just be quiet!".

I really enjoyed that, thanks for sharing!

I think I am going to try and make a frit roller like Kurt's now. Seems simple enough :)

I watched all their short videos yesterday and I am stocked to see they have a full feature video up now. Going to check it out here later today, going to go get my free ice cream haha.

Just finished watching it, great movie! Looking forward to more movies in the glass scene. JOP is currently my favorite artist.

Regarding the title. A lot of work goes into every aspect of a project like this, so thanks for watching. Its a shame that only 5 in 1000 think its worth anything.

-1050 degrees is the temperature that was used to anneal the pieces made by Josh Opdenaker, Kurt B. and Chad G during the 2012 Toronto Flame off. Its lower then what most glass artist would use because of the delicate structure of the base of the sculpture. Too much higher and the piece would slump in the kiln, too much lower and the solid sections of the piece have a higher risk of fracturing as they cool.

This delicate balance is what 1050 Toronto is all about. How big is too big? How far is too far? In the summer of 2012 nine lamp workers from the US where asked to participate in the first international flame off in Toronto Canada. This film follows the journey of a team of three as they travel from across the country to participate in this first time event. If they aim too high they will crash and burn with in the limited time of the contest, if they play it too safe they have no chance of victory. To this group of artists, its about showing the world what commitment and passion for their art it’s all about.

I think the video captures the lifestyle and spirit of the artists really well. The production is exceptional, and I appreciate all the work that went into it.

Completely enjoyed the vid...thanks for sharing it. I liked the part where they're saying....I heard a tink.....then suspense waiting for the next tink....then clink, someone in the background drops some glass....

Gonna watch that a couple more times with a brew or two.

Just hit the donation button for a small amount, hope it helps and thanks again.

^ ?

I hope they did another one for this year but I doubt it somehow... The flameoff pieces were awesome. Plasma, Japanese dot work, and even the Canadian piece was off the charts. Look out AmuricA!

I had already watched it streaming by the time DFO rolled around, but they had this movie going on a huge projector for everyone to watch. Great piece, cool team, amazing film!
