Hi Folks,

I will be teaching an awesome workshop at the Pittsburgh Glass Center at the end of next month.

https://www.pittsburghglasscenter.org/classes/systems-made-transparent-may-27-31

The class is nearly full, at last count there are two spots left.

Systems Made Transparent May 27th-31st

This course will focus on building labyrinthine systems from borosilicate tubing on the torch. We will draw inspiration from diverse sources such as vascular systems, radiant heating and cooling systems, distillation systems, and river systems to create clear, complex, hollow sculptures. Demonstrations will include all manner of hollow seals, flame annealing, multiples, and complex construction strategies. We will use pumps, gravity, and ingenuity to move fluids through our dynamic glass creations in order to bring them to life!

I will be building a distillation device during the workshop, demoing and talking extensively, and helping students build a system of their own design.

My teaching approach is a mixture of class demonstrations and talks, and individual consultation/instruction pertaining to each students needs.
I am personable, highly motivated, and at the same time cool mannered. I personally believe that anything is possible with glass, I am comfortable with an array of working methods and I work hard to help my students improve upon their existing skill set.

I am currently adjunct professor at Virginia Commonwealth University where I teach flameworking. http://arts.vcu.edu/craft/faculty/
