You again?

The best way to polish glass is to go to this site:

http://www.google.com

In the little text entry bar in the middle of the page type in "glass polishing" and hit enter.

You have to use fresh dung, and your bare hands. Once it's on the glass, you have to rub it on your forehead until it's polished. It may take days, or even weeks in some cases.

The parents of these above two persons, Bison and misled youth, always feed them by their parents' stale stinky shit using pipette instead of a milk and a pap since they were born.

This is why they always love to rant a shit.

These families really love a shit.

No doubt.

Hey, don't forget to add salt, sugar, and a vinegar to your shit food cullinary.

Boiled it inside the rusty cooking pot for 20 minutes.

Also I suggest them to beware of the typhus disease.

If so, you can drink a pill of shit.

^^^ I think that may not translate into as biting of a commentary as you would have hoped, but nonetheless, somewhat odd point taken.

Please be civil to one another.

Oh snizap. I see what your doing now. I gave you some really coooo polishing advice, and you came up with some jabroni cooking recipe. Then, you go and rank on my meemaw. Damn. You just taught me a serious life lesson. I didn't expect you to rock the comedy so well. I'm gonna be civil, staring now. And by the way, those are some really poignant questions you keep asking - really, keep it up.

Cerium oxide, maybe?

You can also fire polish glass. It really depends on what you're trying to do as to what method you will want to use.

Stick with baits. Certain sprays will make things worse, depending on the ant. Max Force traps are a tad pricey but one of the best you can get as a consumer. http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/maxforce-fc-ant-bait-stations-p-38.html

You really need to identify the ant correctly in some cases. If you have a protein based ant you would go with the one I linked above, If you have ants that are specifically attracted to sugar you would want a gel based ant bait. Like the one linked below

To get rid of ants put little piles of corn meal around the mounds. The ants can't digest it but they eat it and bring it back to the colony and then they all die.

Can you polish your glass enough to make it so slick that ants could not crawl across it?
Of ants eat cerium oxide, will they grind themselves up inside and die?
Why is everyone picking on ants?

Loki Glass

To get rid of ants put little piles of corn meal around the mounds. The ants can't digest it but they eat it and bring it back to the colony and then they all die.

That's a myth. The only thing sprinkling something like cornmeal or sand or diotamaceous earth, or garlic, or mint oil etc. around a mound would do is disrupt their scent trails, which generally will mean they will pop up somewhere else from the nest and continue with what they were doing. Ant larvae would have no problem digesting cornmeal if that were their only option, I promise you that as they can eat just about anything protein or sucrose based.

Something many people forget is that ants themselves do not actually eat solids. The ants feed the protein/sucrose to the larvae which in turn regurgitate a liquid which the ants feed off of. That's why granulars and gels need to have a time lapse between the time the bait is taken and the time before it becomes effective and actually kills the ant. You want it to reach the queen and kill her. If ants start popping up dead for weird reasons in the nest you can actually cause a random reproductive shift and end up with a bunch more nests to deal with, which only further complicates the issue.

Terro works pretty good.

Diatomaceous earth actually scarifies their bodies so that they dehydrate, shrivel up and die. Don't breathe it or cerium oxide powder. Bad for lungs.

Cerium oxide used with a mini grinder and those little leather pads can work pretty good, but it's tedious as all hell.

i cannot even make sense of what gladss posted? can anyone translate?
as far as the original question, if you rub ANYTHING on glass long enough it will polish it. a potatoe carrot leaves water even your wrists :)

ants
i usually use a little gasoline, it seems to stop them pretty well.
i also have a propane weed burner that i will hold over the mound for a minute or 2 and that works.
"probably not good for in home use"
ants are pretty cool and strong too.
i think i gonna make me a glass ant now, thank for the inspiration

I'm surprised no one mentioned sand paper. You start out with rough, then move to finer and finer grit. Be sure to use water while doing this and wear a respirator. I wouldn't recommend using a belt sander because of the water.

Greymatter Glass

No one mentioned it because no one takes gladss seriously. It's either a troll (well, a user thinking they're a troll, so really a failtroll) or it's someone who treats this forum like google. Look at their other posts. It's clearly someone who's not willing to make even the smallest effort to help themselves, so why should any of us lift a finger?

Gladss may very well be a well intentioned Luddite who doesn't know how this all works, but I doubt it... I always respond with a link to google just in case.

Still, my money is that it's someone here trying to get a rise out of the newbs. I can't help but consider for a second that maybe they're sincere, hence the google link, but still, I tend towards thinking it's a sad failtroll.

Also, borax seems to work well on ants, as does caffeine.

how does the borax work, do you just sprinkle it in their path? I've never heard of caffiene, how do you use that? I get the tiny ants every fucking summer!

I was wondering if the OP meant glass from Poland, why not, the question is sooo vague.

Greymatter Glass
05-13-2013, 05:32 PM
with the borax or caffeine you just sprinkle it around key strategic areas - near their nest, where they're getting in, along their path...

Caffeine is harder to get, but you can usually find it on ebay... careful tho, it's pretty toxic stuff. The amount it takes to get a person buzzed is milligrams.

be careful wiping out ants, we dumped a gallon or two of oleic acid mixture (brewing sanitizer) on an ant colony... well it worked wiped out the ants for a couple months. the problem is that ants are natural predators of fleas. getting rid of them caused a massive flea infestation right after. it was my buddys house and he there are no pets there are just wild animals nearby. ill deal with ants over fleas any day.

them damned fleas are demons. seriously evil hell spawn that make life miserable and dine on flesh "especially mine"
last summer was the worst flea season i even dealt with. it was insane!!!
they would not die, or go away. i treated my dog with advantix and watched the fleas play in it. i thought to myself "haha i gonna kill these fukers and enjoy watching there deaths" lmao i was wrong. they played in the flea killer. so then i figured it would take a few days to see results. i was wrong. i believe they used the oils in advantix as some sort of sex lube and that in turn made the babies immune to it and it may also have worked like a steroid.
i bathed my dog once a week with the best flea shampoo i could find and would see tons of little corpses going down the drain, but that was a totally failed attempt and seemed futile. i went on the net and tried all remedys i could find and nothing was a end all effort.
they are HELL INCARNATE
no wonder bubonic was so effective

i did not see a reason to answer gladyss question as it seemed like googling it would be much easier then typing it into this forum and awating a reply.

mmmmm Flea Genocide...

1 part pyrethrum
1 part neem oil
1 part eucalyptus oil

Get water soluble formulas, dilute with water (I forget how much, whatever neem oil calls for) and put it in a pump sprayer, and nuke your yard. Not every "natural" remedy is bullshit :)

Of course you could just find some diazanon, that stuff works too.

Loki Glass

Permethrin is our go to chemical for outdoor pests like fleas, ticks, mosquito's, aphids, hornets, caterpillars and all that.
It's essentially a synthetic pyrethrum with an added synergist.
It works for about 4 weeks. If you spray every 3 weeks you bump up the residual effects and it becomes cumulative.

It acts as a repellent, which especially helps with mosquito's and flies.
It's also one of the "safest" pesticides out there.

Lucky me gets to go shower in it for the next eight hours as I bring death and destruction to the local Wintermoth caterpillar population chewing up all of our nice trees around here. Raining blood will be the song of the day. :D

nice! lol I am amazed it has lasted this long but hey....?

Ok so i took the ant-bait traps and cut the top off them and took the poison out and spread it around the spot i see the ants coming from hopefully this helps.

I would have just left the baits as they were but the ants just walk right around the trap deals.

So now at least it looks like they are taking the bait hopefully all the way to the queen. death to the ants! at least the ones coming in my house, the ones outside are cool with me.

and again thanks for all the info posters. peace:chilling:

We bought our house from an elderly lady, who left her food out, and her house kind of messy. She had battled ants for 30 years. We started sealing everything well in the pantry, taking the trash out regularly, and don't leave anything out. The ants went away on their own, and we haven't had an ant problem for 8 years. When I was living in a party house with four slobs (me included) ,this would be useless information.

LooseSeal Baller

yeah i try and keep the house nice and clean. When I first saw the ants they were after this bottle of whiskey the lid was slightly open, I thought after I closed it up they would get the clue but, I think they want more liquor lol.
