Hi everyone. I just found out that our good friend Roy Hicks (Gremlin) just passed away 2 days ago from a short battle with cancer… 1 day before his 44th birthday. He is survived by his wife Michelle, and 14 year old daughter, Tara.

Rest in peace my friend.

I can't believe this. I met Gremlin in 2003 at AGI and he was really great to hang out with. Sad day.

In addition to Roy having incredible talent, he was the most fun loving guy I knew. Every time we were together we would laugh until our sides hurt. That being said, he wouldn’t want us to cry for him, so I’m posting this on his behalf… I know he’d laugh his ass off.

My condolences to his friends and family. seems like everyone I know has someone they love dying of cancer right now. My own aunt is terminal with breast cancer, 3-6 months left. Last August the doctors said her treatments were a success after going through mastectomy, radiation and chemo over the course of a year. Then 2 weeks later they told her it was back and that she was terminal, right on the heels of the family celebrating her newfound health.

Jake, get her some oil. It's supposed to be good for breast, lung, and colon cancer, at least to slow down growth and offer some relief from pain. Very sorry to hear all this news :(

RIP Gremlin. I was definitely always a fan. Your minis were some of the first really tiny pieces I remember anyone spending so much time and fine detail to make. I remember not more than a year or two ago you came here asking about the other gremlin glass and I tried to assure you that the name was all you. There might be others who come after you by that name but you will forever be the one and original.
