Hey, ive just gotten into glass blowing and have met some nice people from here... i know there's a lot of people in town for the DFO so i thought i'd pay back some of that friendliness with some suggestions for the out of towners...

Near the DFO:

Sam Bonds Garage (www.sambonds.com/‎)
Phone: (541) 431-6603
Address: 407 Blair Blvd, Eugene, OR 97402

Music everynight and also a cover charge (Usually less than $10). Hippie scene. Good meatloaf sandwich, always have some good beer, mead and wine here as well as chocolate chip cookies and pizza by the slice. Veggetarian and maybe vegan friendly.

Pappas Soul Food (https://plus.google.com/107310644963960652712/about?gl=us&hl=en)
400 Blair Blvd Eugene, OR 97402‎
(541) 342-7500
Some killer bbq. Has koolaid on tap. Usually pretty full around meal time but if you call and ask for take out it usually ready by the time you walk there.

Tiny's Tavern (https://plus.google.com/102292721294550115583/about?gl=us&hl=en)
394 Blair Blvd Eugene, OR 97402‎
(541) 687-8383
Kitty corner to sam bonds. It's a dive bar. Cheap beer (oldest olympia tap if i remember). Recently "renovated" i guess the piss smell is gone.

Blair Alley Arcade (http://www.yelp.com/biz/blairally-vintage-arcade-eugene-2)
245 Blair Blvd
(541) 683-1721
Classic arcade. Might serve beer even. Oldschool games. I haven't been here. Everyone neeeds to go see toad in the hole on saturday night. Awesome irish drinking music. They don't play much anymore so to catch them is a treat.

Sweet Life (http://sweetlifedesserts.com/)
Address: 755 Monroe St, Eugene, OR 97402
Phone:(541) 683-5676
Sweets. Pretty amazing cakes (by the slice), chocolates, coffee etc... OPEN LATE.

Laughing Planet (http://laughingplanetcafe.com/)
760 Blair Blvd Eugene, OR 97402
(541) 868-0668
Hippie style burritos (meat and veggitarian). Fast, healthy and pretty affordable.

Oakshire Brewery (http://oakbrew.com/)
207 Madison St
541-688-4555
Best brewery in the neighborhood. Sorry ninkasi. They have a different food truck at the tasting room so the menu is always different. Lots of single batch flavors.

Ninkasi (ninkasibrewing.com/‎)
Address: 272 Van Buren St, Eugene, OR 97402
Phone:(541) 344-2739
big new brewery. Cool drinking area with fire pits. They have a food truck usually too. beer is drinkable but nothing to write home about.

GJ's (https://plus.google.com/110546867188179928916/about?gl=us&hl=en)
Address: 272 Van Buren St, Eugene, OR 97402
Phone:(541) 344-2739
Sick of all the hippie shit everywhere? Want a greasy (yet still good) omelette where they don't count the eggs and a big plate of hashbrowns, A waitress that calls you honey or an $8 breakfast burrito you wont be able to finish? This is the place.

Wandering Goat (http://www.wanderinggoat.com/)
Address: 268 Madison St, Eugene, OR 97402
Phone:(541) 344-5161
Unfortunately probably the best coffee in eugene. Also the highest concentrate of hipsters.

There's pretty good coffee from drive through shacks (I like cupz (https://plus.google.com/100129914481370686596/about?gl=us&hl=en) and even better Global Delights (https://plus.google.com/101878207371471535009/about?gl=us&hl=en)).

Away from the DFO:

Beer Stein (http://thebierstein.com/)
1591 Willamette St Eugene, Oregon 97401‎
(541) 485-2437
If you like beer you have to check this place out. They have something like 1000 different bottles of beer as well as probably 30 beers on tap. New location is big. Good sandwiches.

Vodoo Doughnuts (http://voodoodoughnut.com/)
Address: 20 E Broadway, Eugene, OR 97401
Phone:(541) 868-8666
open 24 hours i think. Crazy doughnuts... some have oreos, some trix, some with bacon, you name it.

Studio 1 Cafe (https://plus.google.com/local/Eugene,%20OR/s/studio%201%20cafe?gl=us&hl=en)
1473 E 19th Ave, Eugene, OR
(541) 342-8596
The best french toast ever. Good eggs benedicts too

The Jail (https://plus.google.com/local/Eugene,%20OR/s/the%20jail?gl=us&hl=en)
best $6 meal probably. Big styrofoam container of teriyaki chicken.

The Horsehead bar (https://plus.google.com/local/Eugene,%20OR/s/The%20Horsehead%20Bar?gl=us&hl=en)
Good place to drink and they serve some good bbq food till late.

if anyone has any questions let me know. I'll be the tall, good looking guy with dark glasses at the DFO. Say hi.

Hunt down the bhan mi cart for a yummy sammich. Sometimes he parks at ninkasi. Its about the size of a typical home pantry so you may have to squint your eyes.

Yeah, ninkasi has a good beer every once in a while. People seem to like them just not my style.

Strong and hoppy. Not for everyone. Sometimes a pbr does the trick for me. I can drink boneyard rpm all day though.

Thai Food at Ring Of Fire is what's up.

Funniest name for a Thai restaurant I've ever heard. How's the curry?

Everything there is good. They have this drink, that they put liquor soaked melon balls in, that will knock your socks off.

Ring of fire is good but they are expensive. Udon (ubon?) Thai cart out river road is the shit... There's also a Thai cart on 7th and Blair that's legit for $6

YEah drumrong thai on the weird triangle between 6th and 7th and blair is bomb.

That is a good list of places,

but FUCK Tinys Tavern. If you go there drink bottled beer, and dont eat anything, and be prepared to tell some gutter punks to eat a dick as they hound you for beer money.

Izakaya Meiji is a bomb little japanese spot on the corner of blair and van buren, right next to the Red Barn Grocer, nice little OG market.
