latly ive been getting into tubeing work. Ive gotten to where i can blow decent mini goblets and things like that. I am totally self tought at this point

recently ive had some friends ask about making pipes for them. ive been messing around with it latly and have figured out making basic spoons and sherlocks out of plain clear. of course this is getting kinda old now...who wants a clear pipe lol.

can any of you pipe guys out there give some good basic levels of coloring techs to look into and learn? pretty much all i can find are advanced stick-stack based designs and right now i just dont have the cash to be risking wacking up all that color expirimenting lol.

help cure my case of blowers block :bangHead:

If you are bored of clear, you should just do some fume work. That is a pretty easy next step. Fume the inside and then put some frit inside.
Or fume the outside and lay some clear down. Do some wrap and rake or some dot patterns. There is a lot you can do without waisting color and still make it look pretty sweet.

fume ... for 15 bucks you can get every color in the rain bow and there "chamelion" lol . and clears cheap... if baring that you could ask for scrap but i wouldnt push it.

you could also pull little bits of color into stringers and draw lines, dots on dots, pinwheeled dots, etc.
a little frit outside with some clear frit over gives a nice organic look.
many avenues with fuming and its "color changing" effects.
have fun trying new things

if you do decide to try a stick stack and it doesn't work out... you can always recycle the the glass into stringers to use in some other way.... i saw those improvised tools of yours i know you have imagination just use it......
