I had not seen this and its crazy. maybe it was some publicity stunt and it was an acetal plastic tube or something along those lines.. acetal was not commercially made until Dupont started making it in 1956.. thats just my theory. From my recent experiences on a lathe where I set fire to the rubber stopper a couple of times when heating up the other end of the tube I'm going to say there is no way this could be done. I'd love someone to prove me wrong so long as they don't do it with a living creature but something else of similar size and equally flammable.
