So I seem to have gotten a sheet of glass stuck to the bottom of my kiln :bangHead:
How can I get the sheet off? It won't move :shifty: Its a sheet of spectrum 96 glass on fiber bottom
The floor of your kiln is fiber rather than brick?

You'll probably have to pull it out and rip some of the fiber blanket off with it. I don't see what other choice you really have. shouldn't cause much damage, just replace with new fiber blanket or a ceramic shelf

So i got the piece out...but theres a huge divit from it in the floor. Can the kiln cement be used on a fiber kiln?
Your supposed to use kiln wash when slumping I believe, I dont think it will work with a fiber floor. A shelf is gonna be necessary AFAIK. I dont fuse so I am mostly talking out my ass, but then again thats what I spend my waking hours doing ;)

quix is right, put your piece on a kiln washed slump mold, and put that on a kiln shelf in your kiln next time. Or place a sheet of fiber paper on the kiln shelf, and put your kiln washed slump mold on that.
Question, how did a whole sheet of spectrum end up on your untreated kiln floor at slump temp?
