Many thanks Bent!
When I first started working with glass, a scientific glass worker let me use his cutt-off machine and when I moved, I had to figure out how to do it myself.
I am self taught so I had to figure out a lot of things on my own. I don't pull points for inside out work. I use a punty rod on a pre cut blank and it gives me access to both ends of the tube(no flaring). Once I put whatever pattern I want inside, I attach it to a flared 16mm tube and proceed as if it were a piont. I can even rake on the inside(no need to cut and flip).
It takes a bit of getting used to, but after 14 years of doing it this way, This is much faster for me.

Clean work, nice tech!
When you make the score with the tool do you score completely around the tube or just partway?
Only need to score bout 1/3 of the way.
Make sure to use a tiny flame. The smith little torch works well for this also.

Interesting...I do this by scoring, wetting the line, and touching it with a hot rod. This looks a bit more professional and clean.

Awesome tip thanks for sharing
Just wanted to say thank you for the kind words.
I hope it helps a few people.
This tech has been saving me a lot of time and back strain for many years.
