Bought a cc+ 2 hose 4 valve. The flame turns read when I have the flame set to try to wig wag. Looked at carlisles spec sheets n it said 5 psi propane and 25 psi o2. Anyone have any suumggestions as to why this might be happening. Any positive feedback is apprciated. I searched using the search function n disnt find anything about this

Attach some pictures of your flame. My first guess is that you aren't getting enough oxygen to your outer flame, but you didn't really provide enough information to say why.

He said wigwag flame so I think the problem's in the centerfire?

turn it on and just rage the torch to see how the flame acts. if you see some weird colors going into the flame could be some clogged ports, your hoses (not t grade and they degrade), dirty propane debris. did you buy it used or new? if its more red theres a lack of oxygen or some oxygen ports can be clogged you dont have the right mixture of both many many things come into play.. theres some people that go higher than 25psi on the oxygen. as stated above, you didnt provide enough details.

What does the face look like ? how long have you ran the torch? sometimes if a torch has been sitting for a long time they run funny when you first hook um up.. IF the Face is clean and seems free of defects ... Id rage it super big hot flame for a good 20 minutes (go big make a 3 in marble) and see if it clears up.. If not call knight and have them fix it ... they are way more helpful the the guy at Carlisle in my experience

Sounds like you should be trying something other than wig wags.

Is the entire flame red, or is there a red shroud around the flame? Sometimes high humidity will cause a red shroud around the flame. Other things can cause it, too.

Is the face of the torch glowing? Does it have any bits of glowing stuff on it?

Did you buy your torch new or used?

Are you using propane? Make sure the tank is upright and not laying on its side, btw.

Brush the carbon off. Use more propane and/or oxygen.

Clean your torch thoroughly. Check for signs of erosion. If it's ok, then run more oxygen or less propane in your flame (adjust with the valves on your torch).

But if he's already running a short flame, reducing propane can mess the touch up even quicker?! More oxy and/or propane is what he wants.

I'm talking about the balance of oxygen and fuel.

OP, what size flame are you running? How long are your candles on the outerfire? How long are the tips?

Inch and a half or a little larger inner flame going hard and outer opened just enough to fatten it up. N I have tried cleaning the head and using a tip cleaning tool to clean the ports

You're running your outer candles to short.

John... if you leave the outer fire just barely cracked with short little candles...just to fill it out...as you said. If you leave that a long time then yea it going to get hot ... but for the life of me i cant see why you would need the outer fire for wig wags. Unless they are real big.
What you can do is just crack the oxy to fill out and hotten up the inner flame. That should be way hot enough for wig wags.

Can't see the face, but the video makes it look like the inner ring of your outer fire is warn pretty bad. Noticed you turned your propane on before the oxygen on the inner flame, but the opposite on the outter? Hmmm.

that wasn't even the OP'ers video, none of us even know what the flame looks like.

If the ports are glowing red then your torch needs cleaned, i'd scrub the face with a wire brush and clean the ports with the proper size cleaning wire.

Just posted that video so the OP could compare what his flames look like with those in the video.
