Well I'm a soft glass guy, never touched any torch work type stuff. And I just started using color today. Ive done quite well with clear glass and learning basic shapes and doing some of my own creative work. Today I got a wrench tossed into the gears, color. I've been told by more advanced glass workers about how color changes things. You cannot really understand the truth in that statement until you do it. My first piece was a simple cone I used bronze 00 frit to color, made it onto the punty and then an accidental tap and before my assistant could get under it, it bounced and exploded. Well to make this a shorter story I remade another cone just like the first and made it in the box, and I made a second cone with the bronze frit and 2 wraps using neon green and dark green rod bits. Melted the wraps in pretty well so hopefully the mixture works well. I will get some pictures to post on Monday when I go pick up my pieces. Thanks for reading.
