Heya everyone,

I recently picked up some DAP from the Hot Glass shop in Seattle and as I went to round off the back of a few rods one of them didn't look quite right. I finally used it last night and I have no idea what this color is. In Rod form it looks very similar to DAP, It melt's very similar to DAP, only the surface wants to boil easy. And to top it all off the finished product looks a lot more like Aurora to me. Anyhow, I actually really dig the color and was wondering if any of you might know what I have here so I can get more.

? Rod on the Left, DAP on the Right:

Worked into Drips, frame, and bail:

57005

Any ideas? I ruled out all the Mai Tai's and the few experimental ambers from TAG I have. So I'm kinda stuck

Kinda looks like passion extreme by GA. Also, a few years before passion extreme came out, one of the distributors gave me a rod that they said was just really saturated triple passion, looked just like the rods you posted, and looked pretty similar when worked. I assume it was what is now passion extreme, but it did work a little different than passion extreme does.

is it one of the lustres? rod looks to light for caramel lustre.

Wasn't there a Momka rod like that too? Purple Thunder maybe.

Message to Seattle Lampworkers: Stop mixing shit up at Hot Glass. If you take it out, put it back where you found it... lol

Maybe a different batch of Jamboree than the one remaining rod I have but they aren't even comparable in looks.

New Pic, I know it doesn't count for a lot. I'm new and haven't gone through as much color as most of you but I have seen completely different rods with the same name and just chalked it up to different batches. I currently have a really clear rod of purple luster as well as the milky one shown in this pic.

there's little to no consistency from batch to batch in the unstruck color of most striking color rods - that doesn't mean much, it's the finished color that matters.

Even in the finished/struck color there's going to be some variation....

Also, I feel you on mixed up color. I have people that come in and pull 8-10 rods of color, can't afford it, and now I have 4-5 rods that all look the same I have to try to resort.... drives me crazy.
