Blow glass like a Venetian with Chris Ahalt. This class will focus on old world Venetian techniques mixed with modern flame working ideas. From pulling points to flaring cups with all the frills of Venetian style in between. You don’t have to travel to Italy to talk with your hands, drink fine wine, and learn how to blow glass.

For only $600, you will get hands on training from one of the best Venetian-trained glass artists in the country! All clear glass is included and students will be able to take several projects away from the class. The class includes 10+hours of instruction and work time/day to allow students to get the most out of their time.

Chris apprenticed under master flame worker, Cesare Toffolo in 2005 and has been Cesare's teaching assistant at several classes since.

The class size is kept small so each student will receive personalized attention. Each day will have a demo and practice period.

Students are expected to have prior knowledge of lampworking and some hollow form experience.

UPDATE: This class will now be a 2 day class for $450. The three day class didn't work for many people so we're switching this to 2 days so that more people can participate. With this revision, I will have a list of techniques that will be covered so you know what you can expect to learn. I will post this in the next few days. Spread the word! We only have a few seats left!

Here's a quote from Chris about what we will be practicing in the revised 2-Day class.

"Well, as I'm sure you know, so many techniques are about perfecting the little things to achieve the desired results. It never hurts to review techniques that you might feel you fully understand. With that said, here is a list of things we will be doing. Pulling points (properly), cup shaping, using diamond shears and jacks in the torch (very important), hollow stems, ornamental stems, blown feet, possibly gold leaf encasement, incalmo, connecting with avolio's, and if even some possible hollow sculpting."
