Hi, new to the forum

Hello everyone one of the melting pot :D my name is Libby and I'm extremely interested in learning how to lamp-work and become a pipe artist
I wanted to join this forum to get advice from you professionals on how to get started
I'm not in school and there is one glass blowing studio in town (they don't do lamp-working though they have the equipment) and I really want to take some classes there just to get some experience with glass! Well I've take one intro class there (Christmas gift<3)it's just that the classes are so expensive :( I have also been studying with the series of books Contemporary Lamp-working and watch videos of people creating all the time (:
Anyway if anyone could spare the time by giving advice or telling me how you got started or any information at that I would so greatly appreciate it!

Try and find a local glass blower and see if they want a apprentice .. I was lucky and became friends with one in my area

I live in Oklahoma and there are plenty of head shops here I just really doubt any of them blow their own glass and I only know of one studio here but they don't do any lamp-working

Hunt down someone that melts and buy them beer, pizza, and oxygen, become their best friend, watch, learn, and earn some torch time.
