Joe assured me the other day that the brochures are done and we are set to go. I would invite everyone who is teaching there who posts here, to say a little something about what they are gonna focus on and their dates.

Mine is the weekend after the 4th of July and of course is at Technolux in Brooklyn. I will be focusing primarily on stuff and puff techniques. It will start with comturax air traps and then very quickly go into metal traps and other styles of retticello. I'm gonna be bringing platinum sheet to show how nice that works, as well as gold foil. I think by doing this kind of class I can eliminate alot of the intimidation of the precise set up and margin of error with the heat base that most students of this technique seem to encounter. My percentage of success was very low on this in the beginning... and now it is indespensible for my work and is a time saver.

I'm posting this pre-emptively just in case people want to travel to this and need the class catalog to see what else is on the roster. And by all means... you other teachers state your class and curriculum. If we do this now, people can even the odds on getting better travel costs.

Even if I don't get a full class, I'll probably drive up anyway and then make a road trip out of it by going fishing and frisbee golfing at certain points of interest. I think I'll probably head up to Boston to kick it with Tzonis and Nick Glass Dudes shopmates and eat some good fish and chips. So anyone in CT, MA, NYC who wants to hip me to their frolf scene should start challenging me now. Have discs and fishing poles... and a torch. So watch out.

I need one of the catalogs myself just to remember who else was teaching there. I saw the guys from Tecnolux last weekend at the Urban Glass show, but with my short term memory I already forgot all the teachers that are coming there this year. Steve Sizelove are you teaching there as well? Barry Laffler has a class too, there were a couple more, and a couple of bead classes too. At any rate the guys at Tecnolux have a great lineup so be sure to get yourself a brouchure.

I have an advanced marble class there that I've already advertised in another thread. I'm pretty sure the cost of the class is $275, and we will be covering alot of different techniques, including my butterfly marble, and a couple others I have up my sleeve. As I said it's going to be a great class!

Hey Rex, if your into a little travel to the north, I'm in the Adirondacks with lots of great fishing, and space for 6 people. I'd love to see you again!

Hey Chris

Don't feel bad I can't remember how I described my class but I know it will involve lots of lathe work. Anyone with bench skills can take the class most of the stem work will be done on the bench. Tecnolux is such a great place to teach with so much glass to choose from.

Basic lathe technique and LARGE vessels will fill the class.

they got me on the list as well! I am teaching a class focusing on working larger by creative enginering. I am going to try and cover a lot of ground, from creative groupings, sandblasting and painting, and how to work large with a small kiln and hopefully a lot more!

I can't wait, I've never been there before.

I'm doing a class at TecnoluxSeptember 30 - October1, on working with 96COE color rods and WunderGlass. We'll learn basics that can be done simply or made a little more difficult, so if you are already working on the torch, I'll offer you something a little more difficullt so you won't be bored. I'm good at multi-tasking the skill levels. We'll be learning twisties, internal and external, basic murrines (torch and kiln) (including cutting and cold working small fused pieces, basic coiling techniques ( for making shards and anything else that is blown) both over tubing and free coiling off the end of a tube....and so on. We'll also talk about color and how to maix it and use all the color rods. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. For more info you can always go to my website. I'm really looking forward to this. This would be good for those of you who work moretti and want to work a harder glass without going all the way to boro and boro workers who want to try a little softer glass.

BTW - I'm going to bring some Bullseye and Uroboros (90 and 96COE) rods to AGI to play with.

My class will be all about scuplting glass, whether its COE 120,104,96,90,87,55, or 33, its all glass. I'll tailor the class towards the interests and skill levels of the students. Some of what we'll cover will be insects, animals, and figures made in the venetian tradition. We'll also sculpt solid masses using core and surface heat to push the glass into form. I've used this method in the past to create skulls, closed fists, and really detailed animal and human heads to name a few items. We'll work with some murrini and I'll also bring an assortment of cups and feet if people are interested in piecing together a goblet.

Definitely looking forward to working at Technolux and spending a few minutes in Brooklyn.

Hey, one more bump on this.

I wont be going up to Mass after this one, gotta shoot back down to Philly instead, or if the class doesn't fill... and I am next on the block... I will probably just go to Philly that weekend for an opening. I hope it does fill though, I love going to Brooklyn. So hit Joe up so he doesn't pack it in on my class if you're thinking about it.
