View Full Version : cheapest nice reamer handle

thanks smutboy. this was from another thread, but i'm sure lots missed it.

smutboy's suggestion of a 1/4 inch ROUND soapstone holder from your local welder place (cost, 1.90) plus a 1/4 inch carbon rod (a foot for a buck) = one really nice small reamer handle.
i love round reamers, cause if you break them or wear them out, all you do is stick them in the pencil sharpener.
also, the handle is made so that you can either keep a spare tip inside of the handle, or make your reamer double sided.

i put some tape on my handle in case it gets hot.. since it's made of alumnium.. works great.

anyway, this was exactly what i was looking for, and way cheaper than i could have imagined finding it at.

(if anyone knows where to get handles like this for larger sizes, PLEASE let me know.. i'm sick of my homemade dowel handles =) )
