Does anyone know how to make a honeycomb percolator?
Here's an example of what they look like, they are very popular in water pipes

So you see, my issue is that they seem to look like just a disc with tube holes in em but I'm not sure if that's true because they work based on this physical structure...

I believe they are called honeycomb diffusers for that reason
But...Might find something useful here (http://www.talkglass.com/forum/showthread.php?46207-honeycomb-discs)

Yea I searched and read that thread but they don't actually find a link or a name to a source or anything like that.
Would you or anyone else agree that these things are literally just discs full of straight hollow tubes?

pretty sure you just of heat a bunch of tubes all together and pull em down then cut it with a saw in to disks

Now THAT is a great idea for mass producing them in your basement!

Yeah unless you want to waste a case trying to do that correctly you should just buy them if you really want to put one in your piece, but honestly as a consumer ive always stayed away from anything with a honeycomb perc, too much drag and ive always associated honeycomb percs with china tubes because they'll just shove three in there to make it look cooler.
Dude I just tried a single and double honeycomb and they had great flow.
The 8 arms installed by folks who let the main tube constrict when sealing where the drag monsters.

they can have drag yes, but if there is an inline bellow those little discs, magic my friend. I use to have one a few years back but my dog ran into the table it was on and broke 3 other pieces too.
Making the vac stack style is not crazy hard. If you have ever made vac cased cane its almost the same.
You just need a good torch and good solid pull skill.

Im using the honeycomb disc in my klein style recyclers and the action is beautiful.
i do see them used in cheap shit but that doesnt mean they cant be used properly in nice stuff too.
this is a prodo 10mm rig with one and like i said the action is great.
What makes that a Klein style . Looks like a reg honeycomb perc bub with a coupla u shaped tubes slapped on there.
If you heat up the weld on that glass joint after its bridged and gently puff you can get that thick to thin messy weld cleaned up.

Check out Quave's Klein design. There's a lot more going on in this than slapping some tubes on there.

I was gonna say if your just playin around you could use a tungsten pick to impromptu produce a honeycomb disk to be used in a rig or piece but what i read above about stackin and then pulling that stack out and cut into disks seemed like thats the efficient way
