So... I was recently offered this job from another glass artist in my area helping him out with prep work and production. Really excited about that because now I can pursue non production work on my dollar on the side at my shop. Anyways... As if things could not get any better, this guy put the opportunity on the table to help him out at this trade show...

Free 8 day vacation to Colorado... Turn down for what?!?!:chilling:

So who else is going?

I want to meet some faces!

I hear it is going to be an awesome show. I wish I could be there myself. There having a high times cannabis cup there also and the Galleria.
I would just like to go to check it out. I would not even have to show.

I would go to Vail. It is expensive but there are a lot of heads out there.
I really want to try Denver. I could probably take a nice vacation there for like $1000 also. Do the www.airbnb.com thing and everything. I have been investigating it.

Yes, I really have no idea what to expect besides pictures that I looked at online. Never made it out to any glass related event. Never been able to afford it. I start working production at this shop late next week 40hrs+... From then until the 4/14 I will be blowing glass like a mad man, trying to make as much stuff on the side to take out there. Not really worried if I don't get much made though, just want to experience it all. Will be there from 4/15-4/21.

Some of the best glassblowers in the world will be at the galleria. I read about it. I am on the mailing list.

I am told that I am making glass now for the show in Denver. Sounds like it is going to be a good one. I just wish they gave me more time. I am always told the last minute.

Nice. Hoping they put out a list after the 4th. I am now only going to be in Denver the 15th-20th because dude decided it would be cheaper to fly. Will only be at the cup on the 19th... Ohh well can't complain, this is going to be rad! Can't wait to get down on a legal safety break and see take it all in. Started working 40 hour weeks in this guys shop today, Nomad. I will look for your distributors booth and ask them for something made by you if I have the funds handy at the time. Really excited to finally have a steady paycheck with glass. Feeling very grateful because I couldn't really ask for much more. Except that things continue to look up.

Was planning on going to AGE, but it seems that it is not open to the public? (Need some info if anyone can help). I Have some finished product, but not enough to warrant getting a booth...

So maybe I'll go to BIG and the CCup. Either way, gonna have some wholesome Denver fun.

BIG Show and Cup weekend are going to be out of control. We will be out there for the entirety. They are expecting over 35,000 people for the Cup. Concerts galore all week.......Snoop, Ice Cube, Slightly Stoopid, Leftover Salmon, just to name a few. Insane array of glass artists. BIG is not an all glass show by any means, but there is a lot of nice stuff to be found there. Galleria will be impressive, awesome lineup this year. All kinds of smoke industry celebs will be there all weekend. In general, it should be really fun, and a lot of money should be flowing around for everyone to do well. We'll have a booth at the BIG Show, see you guys there.

It's not open to the general public, as in retail buyers. If you're a glassblower you should have no problem getting in and looking around. Take business cards or some other industry credentials. (You're probably not supposed to take in your glass to sell it without a booth though of course).

I'm sharing a booth with a friend at AGE and also helping out with the Bomdiggidy booth at the HT Cup, for our website Bomdiggidy Online. See y'all there!

Thanks Juln. See you there.

I'll be in for the last day of BIG, the cup, and the first two days of AGE. Can't imagine it'll be any fun... ;)

What a line up! Some serious talent will be in those buildings. Can't wait to meet as many friendly faces as possible. Forche, Borobot. Looking forward to meeting you. And any of you other freaks that make it out.

Yes, I look forward meeting you too Maestro! You are the first glass blower I ever heard of back when I was like 16 because I had some older friends who had gotten a hold of your work when you were still around these parts. I am not sure what you all look like. I will be the short little dude at the Ohio Valley Glass booth. 3 days! Was on the torch 43 hours this week, so I for sure plan on buying some misc. stuff at show cost if possible. I hear that isn't rare to come by at trade shows!

so it turns out that I'll be in town for the 16th and 17th, but being a noob I have no credentials, other than receipts, some burn scars and my Instagram account... but I'd love to attend my first trade show even to just walk around for a little bit....

think I could show up and show them some pictures and maybe I'll get in? if that fails and anyone could maybe vouch for me somehow I'd be stoked!

not gonna lie one of my main goals is to hit keystone before they close, but I really wanna go one of the first days (I drive back to dallas on friday)

edit: my name's Julian too! pretty rare to find another Julian with an A

Nope they only let buyers for stores in man. But I heard that the cannabis cup is open to the public. AGE wants every store to have a tobacco license now also. I think BIG is a resale license and a business card. If you have pictures of your store you can win a contest.

Nomad, did not see your distributor at the BIG show.
Anyone staying in the brooks towers by chance? My crew is all passed out and old :(

Yeah there are only like more than 20 other glassblowers that work for them. Plus there must be 1000 different booths at the show. So it is like finding a needle in a hay stack.
